Group Conscience Minutes: 2/5/13

Attendance:  Ben, Mirz, Jack, Ted, Michael, Larry, Mark, Craig, Dave, Mike

• Meeting opened with the Serenity Prayer
• Intros
• December Minutes approved.  No Jan GC meeting held

Reports:

• Ted (GSR): Attended Jan D24 meeting.  2 new business items passed.
    - Area Convention. Tabled Area Assembly.
    - Does RR have an opinion on Area Assembly? Ted voted in favor of Area Convention.
• Michael (Treasurer): Copy of Treasurer's report provided.  State of finances is sound.  $342 available.  Checks have been paid.  Th nite rent paid thru April.
• Larry (IG): Attended IG meeting.  
    - Travel chips are popular.
    - Propsed budget for IG.
    - The Message to go digital. Does RR have any feedback?
    - Question: What is RR secret for Service coverage/commit?
    - 36% of CO shifts covered.
    - IG grp inventory: how does IG spread the message of what IG is about?
• Mike (GSC): Good to go.  We are 100%.  Don't miss until you are dead.
    - What do we do to be successful with Service?  Stong with Service work.
    - (AI) document the Recipe for Success - Larry/Mike
• Mark (Nite Watch):  Sign ups are good thru Feb.
• Craig (PI): New Lit rack at Sister Carmen.  Bring bill to Treasurer.  Look at adding RR contact info to the Literature.
• Dave (Phone List): Did email everyone on list back in Dec. Did not delegate phone list call-out. Removed bad email addresses from the list.
• Ben (Secretary): Nothing to report.

Old Business:

• Daniel Fund discussion:
    - Craig: good idea. Would like to see this setup as seperate fund (from pink can / hat).
    - Dave: would like to see it as %-age of hat, perhaps at the discretion of the Treasurer ~ $200/yr
    - What abou the Name?  "Daniel Martin Fund" vs. the "Memorial Fund" vs. "Daniel's Fund"
    - Motion (Craig):  We will setup "Daniel's Memorial Scholarship Fund".  We announce at meetings.  Anyone can donate.  Anyone who needs help getting to sanctioned retreat will be considered for assistance.  Motion Passes.
    - (AI) - modify 7th tradition statement in the meeting format (Ben/Don ?)
• Increase the Prudent Reserve.  $200 now.  Dave recommends increasing to $450 to cover 1 quarters worth of rent for both locations.  Motion Passes.

New Business:

• None.

Open Service Positions:

• Mirz stands for Secretary - vote passes.

Action Items:

• Mike / Larry - document the Recipe for Success for RR service commit.
• Ben / Don - modify the meeting format to include mention of Daniel Fund during the 7th tradition mention.
• Ted - Get Thursday meeting in Area meeting list.
